Ryan Holroyd-Case

 Vice Chair of Governors

I became a Governor at Wykebeck in the Autumn term of 2021 having previously been Chair of Governors at a Primary and Junior School in Wakefield.

My background is in corporate learning and, for the last eight years, I have worked for one of the largest trade unions in the UK with responsibility for digital media across the region. In addition to this, I am Vice Chair of a theatre company in Leeds, Red Ladder Theatre.

My interest in being a Governor comes from my passion for ensuring that all children have a fair start in life and have the same opportunities regardless of background or social situation. Being a Governor is incredibly rewarding, working with a great staff and teaching team, an effective and vibrant leadership team and, of course, the children who are the most important aspect of any Governor role.

I have been working for the NHS in digital transformation for the last 6 years and for Vodafone for the previous 21 years. I enjoyed bringing  my professional skills into a governing role as a parent governor 15 years ago. I am passionate about technology and its impact on people, compassionate and inclusive leadership and more specifically equality, diversity and inclusion. I love the fact that the school is at the heart of such a diverse community. I am also a Christian and a regular attendee at Leeds Life Church and believe my faith helps me to have empathy for people of different faiths. This is my first year as a governor at Wykebeck.
