Year 6

Welcome to the class page for Pegasus and Hydras. Here you will find lots of fun, exciting and creative learning, children who enjoy challenging themselves and stretch their learning muscles to achieve targets.
The year 6 teachers are Mrs Crowther-Riley, Miss Anderson, Mr Cahill and Mr Mulvihill. We look forward to meeting with you over the school year.
September 2017
In Year 6 this half term they will be looking at fractions, percentages and decimals. In the fractions lessons they will be looking at addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions as well as equivalent fractions. We will also concentrate on mental arithmetic on a weekly basis.
The children will be focusing on spelling, punctuation and grammar as well as reading comprehensions. We will also be using talk for writing to help us write extended pieces of writing. We will be reading the book- 'When the whales came'.
We will be learning about the Mayans- looking at how they lived their lives. We will compare and contrast their lives with modern life.
In Pegasus and Hydra class the children will receive literacy and maths homework on a Friday and will be asked to return the homework on a monday.
